A few last minute cards

Well, the craft room is all boxed up, ready for the movers! Crazy how much less room everything takes up when it's compacted into boxes and not out conveniently within arms reach for crafting :) I managed to get on here to post a few cards I made right before I started packing up everything...

This anniversary card is to play along with Tiff's Sketchy Sunday 13.

And this birthday set is a take on Tiff's Sketchy Sunday 12! Love her sketches ;)

Well, until next time {probably about a month or two...}, stay crafty! Can't wait to catch up once we're set up in our new home :) I already have some fun stuff lined up to show you!!

Moving

Hey all!

So we are in the process of moving to our next Army post, and with that, it means that I won't be posting for a lil bit :( I have tons of goodies to share, once I'm back up and running in whatever new crafty space I might have in our next abode!! The Sisterhood GDT- autumn digi

Hey there everyone! So this is my second and final project as part of the March GDT over at The Sisterhood of Crafters! It's been fabulous getting to see everyone's lovely projects :) This week Boni at Dude Time Doodles was gracious enough to let us use her wonderful digi stamps! I found this fabulous fall harvest image and knew exactly what I wanted to do with it :) I have this jar of branches and fillers that I change up every holiday/season, and I knew that this image would look great wrapped around the jar with some great ribbon and twine!

So here's how my project turned out! I popped up some of the pumpkins and gourds using pop dots. The theme for this week's challenge participants is "man or masculine projects"... I think I might have missed that somewhere, but hey, fall colors are generally masculine, and my MAN will get to enjoy this decor piece too, so there we go ;) Hehe!

Christ Who Strengthens

Things are getting busy around here... we're getting ready to move to our next Army post... which is both exciting and sad. Anyhoo, before my crafting supplies get packed up, I wanted to play along with some new color challenges I've found- so here's a card for Color Cue {13} Challenge :)

So like I mentioned the other day, I've been whipping out my scripture stamps a bit more lately. Here's a card that I made for Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge #80- use something you treasure... I love teal/turquoise, and I have a limited amount of both buttons and patterned paper in said colors. So I used both of those on this card- they're something I usually like to use on projects for myself so I can keep them, but I decided to use them for this card. A card which will go to someone else.

Scripture: Matthew 6:21 "For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."

FWF songbirds

Happy Friends with Flair Friday!! :D Here's a Saint Patrick's Day inspired card... I love the saying that came with the FEB 2010 Kit Of the Month, "Nothin but Blue Skies." They're all very Irish-esque :) hehe, like this sentiment here! I paired it with some of the birdie stamps that were also part of that kit, and put some buttons with them!

Rest in Him

Two cards in one day?! I know, it's crazy hehe... I made this card with the CR84FN color challenge 19 in mind! I recently found this challenge blog and couldn't wait to start playing along :) I also paired it up with the CPS sketch 209 from this week! I haven't whipped out my scripture stamps in quite some time, but you'll be seeing them show up more soon :)

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!!

It's a bittersweet day in our household as it's a day that reminds us greatly of my Nana who passed away late last year. My Nana's mother came over from Ireland on a ship, processed through Ellis Island, and was a proud American ever since. We love and miss you, Nana.

single flower

So this card started out with a stripe and pearls at the bottom... but then I decided to chop them off! I also added some extra stamping... I'm still not really sure which design I like better, what do you think? :) I recently found the Totally Hues Challenge and am loving the color combos- this card uses the Totally Hues Challenge #3 colors! This card was part of the set I was working on last week for my MIL.

SPCC Guest Diva

{sorry if part of this showed up on anyone's RSS readers the other day... blogger decided to post it in the middle of me typing!}

Yay! So here's my other piece of exciting news... I was asked to be a Guest Design Team SPCC Diva this week! Yays! It's been fun getting to play along with my former DT :) It's SPCC #91 and here's my card for the color combo challenge....

Two cards in one day? Craziness, I know hehe ;) Here's another of the cards that I made for my MIL. I used Tiff's Sketchy Sunday #10 LO {you can see I changed it up a little- rounded all the corners, overlapped the elements...} and paired it with SPCC#90 color combo!

So with this card I'm playing along at The Play Date Cafe's PDCC72 color combo. Also combined with Pile It On's #10 challenge of "Up up and away." I used Tiff's Sketchy Sunday #9 LO and tweaked it a little! Love her sketches :D This is another card that's part of the set I made for my MIL, and she wanted generic cards, so there's no sentiment.

Today's card set is for my MIL who requested a set of 10 cards... over the next few days I'll be sharing those with you! :D This card was inspired by Stampin' Sisters in Christ's Challenge #79 to use a stamped flower image... I'd say there's a few of those here, huh? hehe. I also added some pearl accents to play along with ABC Challenge's P is for Pearls.

The Sisterhood GDT- Blessed

Hey everyone! Here is my first project of the month as a Guest Designer for The Sisterhood of Crafters! So super excited :D The new challenge is for Saint Patrick's Day! Being Irish, this is one of my favorite holidays! I made a little wall decor, but unfortunately the frame didn't have a hook to hang it horizontally, so it's my "mantle" decor {but unfortunately we don't actually have a mantle, so it's actually on our server in the dining room, hehe}.

Anyhoo, I thought I'd give a lil DIY so you could create your own wall decor too!

It's pretty simple- I made mine in about 20 mins!

{1} Cut out tags- I used my tag die from sizzix

{2} Run the tags through your embosser- I used two of my Cuttlebug embossing folders

{3} Cut out some shamrocks- I used a die, but you could use clip art or hand cut these too!

{4} Tie some bows through the hole at the top of each tag- I used three different ribbons

{5} Add your letters- mine are chipboard alphas that I got on clearance at Michaels

{6} Add your embellies- I used some stickers, large shamrock brad, buttons, and gems

{7} Attach your "hanging" ribbon across the back of your frame

{8} Attach your shamrocks to mini clothespins, and clip tags to the hanging ribbon

{9} Step back and enjoy! :)

And here's the rest of my "mantle," which I plan on adding to hopefully in the next week :) For the record, the playing card is a picture of the Cliffs of Moher on Ireland's coast. The deck it's from features different images from all around Ireland- and I bought it in Ireland! :) Also, the cute puppy in the corner has a shamrock on his rump and a bright green collar :) Oh, and the Snoopy sticker in the frame corner says "I'm one-eighth Irish setter" hehe, gotta love The Peanuts!

crafty DVD storage

So as I mentioned the other week, I've been doing a lot of organizing and cleaning, some of which involved getting crafty! So here's one example....

I reorganized all of my DVDs- see the complete post {HERE} on my homemaker blog- and of course I had to make pretty labels for my new containers- I didn't have too much time, and I wanted them to be pretty simple anyways... so with some alphas from JoAnns, my nestabilities dies, some pearls and a bit of ribbon- voila! Pretty tags that show what titles are in which bins {they're alphabetized}.

Exciting news!!

So I'm THRILLED to be able to finally tell everyone- I'm a Guest DT member at The Sisterhood of Crafters this month!! Wooohooo! I am so honored to have been chosen! Shamrock

Being from an Irish family, Saint Patrick's Day is one of the most celebrated holidays in our household growing up! :) This card is for my mum- it'll be her first St. Patty's day without her mother, who passed away this past November. They would always spend the holiday in The City {NYC} together watching the parade and visiting their favorite pubs. Miss you, Nana.

This was a quick card and would be perfect for making with kids too! Just make a light shamrock outline in pen and let the kids fill it in with buttons! :) It was perfect for getting rid of my excess of green buttons too ;)

Elegant thank you

Here's a card I made as a thank-you for a generous donation at a recent Officer's Spouses' Club event. We had a Silent Auction {same one that I made those topiary balls for!} and I was in charge of writing the thank-you note! Of course I'm going to make said thank-you note, and here's what I came up with. It's a bit patriotic and a bit elegance... I think it turned out pretty well, what do you think? :)

Yay! Happy Birthday! Well, happy birthday to whomever my customer sends these cards out to, hehe. This is part of a larger set of cards that I just mailed out to a customer. The inside has a simple birthday sentiment. I haven't used that birthday embossing folder in forever! Figured it was about time to dust it off ;)
