Happy Saint Patrick's Day!!

here's just a lil card I made up last night using one of my Unity stamps and some Offray ribbon on GP and Gartner Studios cardstock.

SPCC "Going Green" blog hop

WELCOME- to the first ever SPCC blog hop!

The theme of our hop is "Going Green" in honor of Saint Patrick's Day and in honor of our environment :) Our fearless leader, Samantha, has given us yet again an amazing color swatch to work with- turquoise, lime green, and white! This time she threw in a twist- use something "green" as in something recycled :) It's been a great chance to think outside the box and, instead of going out and buying new stash, using some old stash and some not-usually-stash stash! ;)

::Cardboard and Paper Bags::

SO, on to my project! Here's my take on a paper bag album- the cover is a scrap piece of cardboard that I cut in half to make the front and back covers. I busted out my Unity background stamp and my Martha Stewart ink and got those great distressed dots :) The chipboard letters are a mix of Target and JoAnn goodies, while the shamrocks are a QuickCutz die that I recently picked up at my LSS's garage sale :) I used my Crop-A-Dile to put some great eyelets in the covers and bound it with some ribbon from Michaels. Now the inside pages, those are a paper bag that I cut down to be just a touch smaller than the covers, and used some colored MakingMemories staples to adhere more great ribbon from Michaels- being Irish, i LOVE the dark green ribbon with the great Celtic knot pattern :) I actually got that ribbon in the clearance bin a while back!

Friends with flair

whoops! So yes, some people saw this yesterday... apparently I was a day ahead of myself and had it auto-post for yesterday morning instead of this morning, so if you're seeing this for the second time, that's why ;) Enjoy! And happy friday!

Yay for Friends with Flair Friday!!! Fittingly, this is my last card to share from the group of cards I made recently using Unity's February KOM. LOVE the kit!! If you're not a Kit Club Member, head on over to Unity and sign up! :D their kits are a.maz.ing and you get GREAT kit club perks ;) and tell 'em I sent ya!

The branch is part of a larger stamp from Feb's KOM. As you can see, I kinda cheated when I did the masking- really I just freehand inked up the stamp and wiped away any ink that got on the rest of the stamp. It's not perfect, but I kinda like it that way :) Anyhoo, I made three of these, and I ended up photographing the one with the worst "masking" job, silly me- but I'm definitely sending one over to DH who's deployed overseas, hehe.

AGAIN.... I can't say enough about February's KOM from Unity :) lovin it SO much... I'm almost done showing off some of the awesome stamps these ladies came up with last month! CanNOT wait until I get March's kit :D

So I cannot express how much I LOVE Unity's February's Kit of the Month {Nothing but BLUE SKIES}- love love love it! Those designers are SO talented! These might be my favorites from the set I made! Unfortunately the stamp was a little dirty, well actually I think it was the stamp cleaner pad, so the blue got a little dingy when I stamped the rainbow... but I love how the gems came out :) A few flutterbys, and done! Loving the Unity February kit!!!
